王宇 教授简介：

       Dr. Yu Wang (王宇) is appointed as an Associate Professor of geotechnical engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He was educated in mainland China, Hong Kong and USA, and he obtained his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, USA. His recent research efforts have focused on geotechnical risk and reliability (e.g., probabilistic characterization of soil properties, reliability- based design, probabilistic slope stability analysis), soil-structure interaction (e.g., responses of buried utility pipelines to ground displacement induced by seismic strong motions or urban underground construction activities such as tunneling), and seismic risk assessment of critical civil infrastructure systems (e.g. water supply systems). His research has earned several international recognitions, including the inaugural Wilson Tang best paper award in Singapore in 2012 and the “Editor’s Choice” paper by Canadian Geotechnical Journal in 2013.  He was the President of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Hong Kong Section in 2012 -2013. He is also a member of several international Technical Committees (TCs), including an ASCE Geo-Institute TC on Risk and two TCs on Risk and In-Situ Testing, respectively, under the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. Dr Wang has authored/co-authored over 70 technical publications, including 3 books and over 30 journal papers in English.
