Aims and Learning Outcomes
You will learn the main techniques available for dealing with uncertainties in modelling through an advanced and powerful framework and user interface.
Structure of the Training Programme
1) The first day is dedicated to an introduction of the COSSAN software, and to general concepts of stochastic and probabilistic analysis using practical exercises.
2) The second day is dedicated to advance features including link to 3rd party solvers,otpimization uncertainties, and metamodelling techniques.
3) In addition during the course, one to one meeting with the main developers of the COSSAN
Software will be possible for discussions on possible collaboration or demonstrations of advanced software capabilities.
Main Concepts and Techniques
1) Random Variables and Random Variables Sets
2) Monte Carlo simulation and advanced simulation techiniques (Subset simulation, Line
Sampling, Importance Sampling, Latin Hypercube Sampling)
3) Global and Local Sensitivity analysis
4) Global optimization techniques
5) Surrogate Models (Artificial Neural Networks, Response surface, Kriging)
6) Reliability based and robust desing
