报告人简介：

He has been a professor and research scientist at École de technologie supérieure (University of Quebec) for 25 years, where he has conducted world class research on the impacts of climate change on water resources.  He has published over 100 papers in international journals.  His work has been cited by hundreds of scientists and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Over the past seven years he has led or participated in research projects totaling 4.5 million dollars.   He participates in international collaborations with China (Wuhan University) and Germany (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Leibniz Supercomputing Center).   He has conducted research projects with major Canadian utilities (Quebec Hydro, Rio Tinto Alcan, Manitoba Hydro, Ontario Power Generation) and all major Quebec Water management stakeholders, and notably with the Ouranos consortium on regional climatology and adaptation to climate change and the Ministry of Environment and climate change.   He is a Minister-nominated member of the Quebec Water Council, a policy advisory council to the Government in matters of water resources.

He has a Bachelor in geology (Montreal University), a Bachelor in geological engineering (École Polytechnique de Montreal), a M.Sc. in volcanology (Montreal University), a Ph.D. in water resources engineering (McMaster University) and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Canadian Center for Inland Waters.
