赵坚教授简介：

      Dr Jian ZHAO is the Professor of Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling, Director of the Rock Mechanics Laboratory (LMR), at EcolePolytechniqueFédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and the Professor of Monash University.  

      Prof Jian Zhao is an Editor in Chief of the Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology international journal (UK), a Co-Editor of the Geomechanics and Geoengineering international journal (UK), an Editorial Board Member of 7 other overseas journals.  He is the Vice President (2003-2007) of the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM), and was an Executive Council Member (2001-2004) of the International Tunnelling Association (ITA).  He is a recipient of the Richard Wolters Prize (2000) of the International Association of Engineering Geology and the Environment, the Cheung Kong Scholar Program Award (2000) of Ministry of Education of China, the Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award (2004) of the Institutions of Engineers of Singapore. His interests and experience span widely from engineering geology, geomechanics to rock engineering and underground technology. He has been researching and teaching various topics related to rock engineering and underground technology, and published over 220 technical papers, including 1 book, 3 monographs, 5 edited volumes, over 100 articles in technical journals. He started research on rock dynamics since 1996 and has been actively pursuing research in this area.
