报告人简介：Dr. Gustavo Tontini

Dr. Gustavo Tontini graduated in Physics and obtained a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil. While a researcher, he actively participated in large-scale multidisciplinary academy-industry projects developing functional materials for compressors, with emphasis in the synthesis, characterization, and processing of nanostructured materials. Gustavo joined Nature Communications in June 2021 as an Associate Editor overseeing the areas of materials engineering, applied materials, and devices. In November 2022 he became a Senior Editor and founded a new team dedicated to handle manuscripts across the various fields of engineering such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical.

交流嘉宾简介：刘波博士

刘波博士,现任自然合作期刊系列（NPJ）的Executive Editor执行编辑和中国区Nature Portfolio的Regional Executive Editor，管理NPJ物质、环境与社会科学方向的10本期刊。在此之前，他于2017年3月加入Nature Communications编辑团队，处理太阳能电池、半导体光电器件等领域的稿件。刘波博士在浙江大学和新加坡国立大学分别获得物理学士学位和物理学博士学位。博士毕业后，他在新加坡石墨烯研究中心和西雅图华盛顿大学从事博士后研究。刘波博士常驻施普林格•自然上海办公室。

Dr. Gustavo Tontini will talk about the structure of the Nature Portfolio from the perspective of the Engineering Team at Nature Communications. He will also provide an overview of the editorial process, highlighting pitfalls and tips on what to consider when preparing a research manuscript for submission.
