报告人简介:
Dr. Kong Yong is a Research Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He earned his Ph.D. degree (2020) from Prof. Jidong Zhao’s Lab at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is an enthusiastic researcher in computational geohazards, geotechnics, and geomechanics. Dr. Kong developed a high-fidelity, unified CFD-DEM coupled approach capable of modeling various multiphase geophysical flows interacting with complex structures, forests, and natural terrains.
报告简介:
This talk will showcase how state-of-the-art numerical tools address geohazard challenges and help see the unseen & quantify the unknowns. Dr. Kong’s remarkable research discoveries have been published in top geophysical/geotechnical journals, such as JGR-Earth Surf., Géotechnique, & Eng. Geol. The scientific committee of the Association of Geohazard Professionals (AGHP) lauded his findings as “revolutionizing engineering design and shaping ongoing research”.
